Ball Grid Array (BGA), Chip Scale Package (CSP) and Quad Flat-pack (QFN) Reworking - three-day course
Increasingly BGAs, CSPs and QFNs are becoming essential components in the production of electronic devices but frequently staff are unsure how to rework these, often very expensive, components with confidence.
Course overview
This course has been designed for staff using complex BGA/CSP/QFN equipment or looking to introduce such equipment.
The programme provides staff with the high-level skills involved in the placement and inspection of BGA, CSP and QFN devices. Details of PCB preparation, alignment, insertion and process controls are given, along with methods of reballing.
Practical work using ERSA 550 and 650 systems is a feature of this course, with the knowledge gained being transferable to other similar makes of equipment. Package on Package and other technologies are discussed and inspection techniques using both optical and X-ray equipment are covered.
Assessments at the end of the areas covered will result in an Electronics Yorkshire certificate being awarded to candidates who achieve the required standard. Within this programme students will also be able to take an IPC course of study and receive the IPC Ball Grid Array Rework DVD-96C certificate on successful completion of that course.
